Church and Religious Affiliations and Commendations

Baptized into The Church of The Living God at the age of 6 years old (in the Red River) under the pastorate of Chief Clarence Hood

Accepted the call to the ministry and preached his first sermon April 14TH 1986.

Became an Elder in 1986

Pastor of the COTLG- Bossier City Temple for 1 year - 1986

Appointed Interim Pastor of the COTLG –Shreveport Louisiana in October 1986

Assigned pastor in the October, 1987 setting of the National Assembly in Los Angeles, California, of both the Shreveport and Bossier City Temples

Consecrated as Bishop in October, 1995 in Indianapolis, Indiana during the setting of the 80th National Assembly

Elected National President of The Church of The Living God, The Pillar and Ground of The Truth during the National Assembly in October, 2002 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Instituted a Summit Team to assist in the merger of the Sunday School Congress and the National Assembly

Hosted the First Holy Convocation in Atlanta, Georgia in 2006

Hosted the Centennial (100) Year Holy Convocation in Little Rock, Arkansas simultaneously with the C.W.F.F. (Christian Workers For Fellowship)

Hosted the Historical Convocation in Rockville, MD with visits to the Historical National Monuments in Washington, DC (July, 2015); thus, the Holy Convocation has met in eleven major cities in the United States

Restructured the National Education Department making it more financially solvent

Established Shreveport Temple as the functional headquarters and publication center for the National Assembly

Participated in a combined effort with Bishop Robert D. Tyler, Chief Bishop, a Joint Leadership Conference with C.W.F.F. (Christian Workers For Fellowship) held in St. Louis, MS for the purpose of promoting fellowship across denominational lines

Designed the National logo

Instituted monthly thematic preaching, teaching, and New Member Orientation outlines for churches within the National Assembly

Renowned preacher, evangelist, and lecturer nation wide

 

Civic, Community and Social Affiliations

Former president of the Greater Shreveport Ministerial Alliance (the 2nd African American pastor to hold this position).

Served as treasurer of The Gathering of Eagles Ministers' Alliance

Charter member of the Shreveport Police Pastor Program, a community project aimed at strengthening the relationship between Law Enforcement and the community

Established and sponsors the Johnetta Capers Maiden Walk-A-Thon. Proceeds from which support the Elder Louis Goree/Johnetta Capers Maiden Scholarship fund and the American Heart Association
